THIS WEEK’S STORY

Knowledge really is power

This week I visited a run-down house with a real estate agent. He walked me through every room, explaining how a small renovation budget could turn it into something beautiful.

He broke down costs, revaluation potential, and even the “perfect” offer price, which of course, was pretty high.

Everything he said sounded reasonable. The numbers added up. It almost felt like a no-brainer investment.

But here’s the problem: I didn’t really know what I was talking about. I had no benchmark for renovation costs or market value. So I trusted his judgment, assuming he had my best interest in mind.

Wrong.

After digging deeper later, I realized the deal wasn’t that great after all. If I had more knowledge, I could’ve called his bluff on the spot.

And that’s the lesson.

In business, investing, sports — whatever the arena — the most knowledgeable person in the room holds the leverage.

It’s the same in software.

Ever been on a sales call with someone pitching a “done-for-you” agency system or a $10K coaching program?

They sound so confident, so data-backed, that saying no feels stupid. That’s not persuasion: that’s information asymmetry.

Now translate that to building with AI.

If you don’t understand how the tools actually work, how they reason, output data, connect APIs, or what “fine-tuning” even means, you’ll always be behind.

But once you do… everything changes.
You spot BS instantly. You sound credible. You build faster. You sell better.

So whatever you’re building, make learning a priority.

Knowledge isn’t just power, it’s your ultimate leverage.

(And hey, this newsletter is already a pretty good place to start 😉)

HEADLINES

OpenAI Just Changed the Game (Again)

Two massive updates just dropped this week, and they’re both aimed straight at indie builders like us.

1. GPT Apps Are Here.
OpenAI turned custom GPTs into full-blown apps inside ChatGPT. That means anyone can now build, publish, and share their own AI app, complete with a real app page, logo, description, and user base.

No need to code or host anything. Just create a GPT, give it a clear purpose, and share the link. Think of it as the app store for AI but your product can go live in minutes.

2. The Agent Kit for Developers.
For those who want to go deeper: OpenAI also released the Agent Kit, a new toolkit that lets you turn GPTs into real-world agents that can take actions like sending emails, managing data, or making API calls on your behalf.

It’s an early glimpse of autonomous workflows powered by GPTs. The future where your app can actually do things for users just got a lot closer.

This combo really bridges the gap between creative ideas and full automation.

If you’re building with AI, this is your cue to start experimenting now.

THIS WEEK’S TIP

How to Actually Learn Vibe Coding

If you want to get better at vibe coding, stop chasing perfection and start chasing errors.

The truth is: you don’t really learn when things work. You learn when they break.

Every error log is a tiny lesson in disguise. Slow down, read the console, and ask why it happened. That’s where your real skills start compounding.

Here’s what helped me improve faster than any tutorial ever could:

  1. Treat errors as teachers. Each one reveals a pattern you didn’t know before. Fix enough of them, and suddenly you start predicting what might break before it does.

  2. Working ≠ finished. When your app finally runs, that’s the halfway point. The second phase (where you refine and polish) is where you level up.

  3. Build before you study. Don’t spend hours watching videos or reading docs. Start building, hit a wall, then learn what you need to move past it. That’s how lessons stick.

  4. Ask better questions. When you’re stuck, context is everything. Quote the exact error, describe what you tried, and you’ll get 10x better answers, from ChatGPT or anyone else.

  5. Keep every project. Even the broken ones. You’ll revisit them months later and realize you suddenly understand how to fix them. That’s growth.

The best vibe coders aren’t the ones who know the most. They’re the ones who keep building, breaking, and learning without giving up.

Btw I teach more of this stuff in practice here
